Billie Bavery, Founder and owner of Bavery Gameheads, preserves history in two convenient locations in Illinois.
Billie’s first location (in Warsaw, Illinois) was the start of his business. In 2003 when he killed a 178 inch deer and wanted to have it preserved. With his artistic background and interest in hunting, he heard his taxidermy "calling" and enrolled in Joe Meder’s Taxidermy School in Coralville, Iowa. Billie then attended and completed Joe’s Whitetailed Deer-specific Taxidermy School in 2004.
What started as a hobby mounting 10 deer yearly for friends and family quickly grew into a thriving business in West Central Illinois. Billie has also grown as an artist in being able to create work for all manner of species of fur-bearing mammals. Having produced thousands of mounts over the years, the quality of his work and attention to detail have helped him create a business he loves and for which he has a passion.
After a few years, the business had outgrown the basement and Billie built himself a taxidermy shop in 2008.
In 2012, Billie moved to northern Illinois and now operates a second location in Manhattan, Illinois.
Bavery Gameheads offers quality craftsmanship for most fur-bearing animals, including worldwide game animals.
